Welcome to the Whitebelt Series – Nile Fundamentals
Difficulty Level: Beginner
This is your starting point with the Nile Access Service. By the end of this series you will be able to perform the minimum, safe day-0/day-1 configuration in the Nile Portal: build a working SSID, onboard a wired client, and run basic troubleshooting.
What You Will Learn
- PSK Wireless SSID – create 1 DHCP scope, 1 segment, and 1 PSK SSID, then validate client connectivity
- UPSK SSID (without SSO) – give each user/device a unique passphrase managed from the portal
- Guest Captive Portal SSID – stand up a basic guest onboarding flow
- Wired Client Onboarding – connect a wired device and approve it in Access Management
- Basic Troubleshooting – use the Devices page, Run Test, and event logs
How to Get the Most Out of This Course
- Follow Instructions Step-by-Step: Carefully perform each lab activity as described. Don't skip steps, as each builds on the previous one. Always select "your site" as the Service Area and use your own unique naming.
- Take Notes: Jot down any issues, questions, or steps you find important for future reference or troubleshooting.
- Complete the Quiz: Take the end-of-course quiz seriously—it helps reinforce what you've learned and highlights areas for review.
Prerequisites
- Nile Portal access with the required permissions
- An assigned site in the portal (select "your site")
- One wireless test client and one wired test client
To pass: complete all hands-on labs (working PSK/UPSK SSID + one approved wired device + guest SSID test) and score the required mark on the quiz.
