Welcome to the Greenbelt Series – Nile Intermediate
Difficulty Level: Intermediate
This series moves from basic connectivity to identity- and policy-driven access. You will work with RADIUS, 802.1X, SSO, and guest URL controls to segment users based on who they are, not just which SSID they join.
What You Will Learn
- Nile RADIUS (Demo Mode) – enable self-signed demo certificates and build policies that place Employee (CommonName "marketing") and Contractor (CommonName "sales") clients into the right segments via Nile RADIUS
- Wireless 802.1X with Role Segmentation – map Employee/Contractor outcomes to DHCP and segments, with auth troubleshooting
- PSK + SSO Integration – SSO onboarding flow and Force-SSO behavior
- Guest Policy and URL Control – click-through/passcode models and URL filtering
How to Get the Most Out of This Course
- Follow Instructions Step-by-Step: Carefully perform each lab activity as described. Don't skip steps, as each builds on the previous one. Many labs reuse segments and authentication sources created earlier—keep them intact.
- Take Notes: Jot down any issues, questions, or steps you find important for future reference or troubleshooting. Record which policy/segment each test client landed in.
- Complete the Quiz: Take the end-of-course quiz seriously—it helps reinforce what you've learned and highlights areas for review.
Prerequisites
- Completion of the Whitebelt Series (Nile Fundamentals) is recommended
- Nile Portal access with the required permissions and an assigned site
- Test clients capable of EAP-TLS / certificate-based authentication
To pass: demonstrate 802.1X with at least two role outcomes, a successful SSO client flow, and a URL-filtering proof, plus the required quiz score.
